I Hate Bottled Water

I Hate Bottled Water

I hate Bottled Water.  I do.  I’ve said it!  I got tired of spending too much money on water, not even good water half the time.  Soon you’ll be paying for the air that you breathe, but let’s not get into that right now.

There have been many times where I’ve packed filtered water into stainless steel, glass or BPA-free plastics to prevent supporting Bottled Water Companies.  Why?  The cost alone!  There have been a number of times, especially in the airport, where I’ve had to pay $4.00 or more per 16 oz of water since you can no longer take in that much liquid.  The cost of bottled water is ridiculous.  It costs more for a bottle of water than it does for soda or juice.

When I’m on the go, I need access to fresh, clean water to drink and stay hydrated, — and I’m not talking about drinking tap water when it’s laced with chlorine, fluoride and other chemicals that are not safe. Lugging bottled water gets tedious and bothersome, especially if I don’t stock enough in my car or bag or there isn’t enough room for more.  On top of that, there’s the fact that I’ve spent way too much for bottled water and research has proven that not all bottled water or even tap water is the same from place to place.  Then, there’s also the factor that I’m an eco-conscious person, where buying that much plastic, possibly BPA coated or other toxic chemicals, is just not a fun option to your wallet or for Mother Earth.

So what’s a solution?  We’ll, I think I’ve found a great one . . . for now!  Recently, I was shopping in our local store and came across what I call my New Favorite Water Bottle.  There are so many cool things about this bottle, I had to share.

Anywhere we go, my hubby and I take our Thermos Water Bottle.  I don’t leave the home without it.

Why did we get the Thermos Water Bottle

Aside from the fact that Tom and I drink a lot of water each day, especially when we go to the gym and all of the reasons I stated above, here is why I bought the Thermos Brand Water Filtration Bottle and not any other’s after research.

  1.  It has a built in, filter (Yes.  A portable water filter.)

  2.  It holds up to 22 oz of water at a time.

  3.  When empty, you can carry it into the airport.

  4.  You can fill up from any water source.

  5.  It’s cost only about $20.

  6.  It’s compact.  No need to pack an entire case of water in the car.

  7.  It is one of the highest VOC filters on the market. (Filter is NSF/ANSI 53 certified and reduces contaminants such as: aesthetic chlorine, chloramine, atrazine and particulate class v contaminants as well as bad tastes and odor.)

  8.  It’s BPA free plastic.

Please Note: This is not a water purifier.  Do not use this bottle with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

We’ve been using our bottle for almost five months now and are loving it.  Anytime we’re on the road and need more water, we hop out and fill up in the bathroom at any restaurant or gas station.  We’ve already saved hundreds on the cost of bottled water let alone helped prevent more plastics bottles from being created and hurting our planet.

Have you used the Thermos Brand Water Bottles or a different one?  I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions.

Thanks for stopping by.
